Counting my Blessings

Note: I may earn money or products from the companies, products, or links mentioned in this post.

I am still working on editing my blog a little bit, but I wanted to take a little break to write a post. I have been thinking lately that I needed to write about some things I am thankful for. I get so caught up in what I don’t have, which is embarrassing to admit, but true. I have so much to be thankful for and so much that others do not have, and I just needed to take the time to list them, so when I do start feeling sorry for myself or start wishing I had other things, I can refer back to this, and remember how blessed I really am!

counting my blessingsCounting my Blessings:

1. I am thankful I am saved.
Without Salvation and Jesus Christ I would truly be lost. It is very easy to take it for granted and wake up every day going through the same thing over and over. But it really is an amazing gift, and something I need to think about more often.

2. I am thankful for my husband.
No one is perfect, but I love my husband dearly, he does a wonderful job taking care of me. Without him I would truly be lost.

3. I am thankful for my baby.

What a blessing it is to be pregnant. It is not always fun, but I still love this baby with all my heart. I am so glad God blessed us with Adam!

4. I am thankful for family.

I have some wonderful in-laws who I adore, two great and fun brothers, and a mom and dad who love me.

5. I am thankful for two cars.

Ok, so one of cars is 21 years old almost as old as I am, but it is still running and it is so nice to have two cars so my husband can take one to work, and I can take one during the day.

6. I am thankful my husband has a stable job.

The military situation may not always be the best, but it is a stable job, with many benefits. I am so glad for that. It is nice to know that we do not have to worry about him losing his job.

7.
I am thankful for meeting new friends.
I love to meet new people, and it is always a blessing to meet new friends!

8. I am thankful to be stationed in a good place.
Georgia is not my favorite place, but it is not bad here, I know there are much worse places than this. It is a pretty good area, and a nice base.

9. I am thankful for friends.
Whether they are near are far, they are always close to my heart. I am so glad to know some great people!

10. I am thankful that my husband is home right now and not deployed.
I am so glad to be able to spend this time with him. I know the time will come and he will have to leave, but until then I will be so grateful for every moment spent together!

11. I am thankful for our bedroom set.
I know this may sound silly, but my in-law’s bought us the nicest bedroom set for our wedding. Came with a Queen-sized bed, a dresser for Jon, a dresser with a mirror for me, and two bed stands. I love them! I know that without it we would not have been able to afford anything that nice.

12. I am thankful for the church we go to.
After many months of looking for a church, we were so glad to become members of Bible Baptist Church last August. Such a wonderful church, with so many great ministries and people. It has been a huge help to us.

13. I am thankful for the Bible.
I am thankful that at anytime I can go and open God’s Word and get encouragement, or have God speak to me.

I am sure I could write more, but as of right now I am done listing...

“The secret of happiness is to count your blessings while others are adding up their troubles.”

  2. What great things to be thankful for! Every time I start to want something I don't have God reminds me of the MANY MANY things He has blessed me with! Far more than most people!
Thanks for reminding me to remember my blessings!

  3. I always encourage people to make a list of their blessings and everything they are thankful for in their lives. And, I guess I didn't even think about it, but I basically just posted a very similar blog post about all the things I love: the blessings in MY life! When I do this it reminds me of how blessed I am and makes me so happy with the way my life has turned out. All because I am leaning on the Lord and trusting in His plans for my life. God is good!

p.s. Can I just add how grateful I am that I met you. You are such a wonderful woman of God and I'm glad to have you in my life as my blog-friend!

  6. Life moves so fast and there is so much that we don't have so it is refreshing to see someone giving thanks:) I should take your example because I have been thinking about everything that would make me happy if I had instead of enjoying what I do have. Thanks for this post, I needed it:)

  7. My post today was about blessings, too! So I had to pop over when I saw your post on SITS. I think it's wonderful to remember God's blessings, especially when it's so easy to forget as we go throughout our day.

  8. Wow, I love your new blog look. The old one was great, too, but this one is lighter and brighter. I like it!

I also love your list. I think sometimes we all get caught up in our everyday life, worrying about the difficult things we are going through or the needs we have that have not yet been met. I think it IS great to stop and give thanks for all the amazing blessings the Lord has already provided in our life. I think that helps us keep things in perspective and makes us happier.

Well, thanks so much for stopping by my blog today. I'm praying that you are feeling well and that baby Adam is growing and growing!

I hope you and Jon have a great weekend!

    Blessings,

    Teresa <><

You are so beyond your years to be so reflective – thank you for reminding me to count my blessings instead of what I don't have.
